Training & Development

Training & Development

The success of Morrison Utility Services depends on our ability to attract, develop and retain people who enable our business to retain its sector leading status and enable our people to achieve their career ambitions.

We are committed to maintaining exceptional levels of competence and capability across the business, addressing potential skills gaps with targeted personal development and role specific training programmes.

Working alongside accredited training providers, we provide structured training paths offering a range of learning and development opportunities for all our people - from craft and technical field personnel through technical and support teams, our people managers and our senior leadership team.

We recognise that all our people are different, and provide a range of learning opportunities from classroom based, through role-play to e-learning.  A range of platforms are made available to engage and educate our people.

Sector Skills Development

As a steering group member of Energy & Utility Skills, and a founder member of the National Skills Academy for Power, Morrison Utility Services plays an instrumental role in the design and development of industry recognised learning programmes.

Our involvement at the forefront of workforce development includes close collaboration with key industry bodies including the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB), the Institute of Safety and Health (IOSH), City and Guilds (C&G) and Investors in People (IIP).

Professional Associations

In addition, our links with independent professional engineering institutions such as the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) and Institution of Engineering Technology (IET) supports our focus on nurturing talent and helping our engineers to develop at every stage of their careers.
